There’s no slowing down‘ domination for diverse music (and K-pop) in the Western hemisphere.
After making their debut on Billboard’s Hot 100 last week at No. 85, BTS’ single “DNA” moved up to No. 67 for the week of Oct. 14. With that said, the group has earned the highest-charting Billboard Hot 100 hit by a K-pop act. (This title was previously owned by K-pop girl group Wonder Girls when their smash hit “Nobody” placed No. 76 in 2009.)
In addition to topping the charts, the music video for “DNA” surpassed 90 million views on YouTube becoming the fastest K-pop group to reach 10 to 90 million views consecutively. According to Soompi, the music video set a new record as the most viewed K-pop music video within 24 hours of its release.
